Anantara Solutions is a Private Limited Company having its headquarter at Chennai in the state of Tamilnadu in India. The company also has its offices in United States, Europe, Singapore and India. The word Anantara means "the continuum" in Sanskrit. The company was ranked among the top 10 start-ups to watch in 2008 by Mint (A Wall Street Journal joint venture). NASSCOM has named the company to its IT innovation for 2007 list.
The company is funded by Helion Venture Partners in a syndicate,with the other investors being Walden International, SVB Financial Group and a Europe-based venture capitalist, Christian Wedell.
The company works like a global manufacturing company. It designs solutions, buys components for the solutions from some 50 partner-network companies spread across India, China, Russia, Singapore, USA, Canada and Malta and assembles them into the final business. Steve Hamm, a senior writer with Business Week in a post on the Business Week blog says that the business model of the company could pose a serious challenge to the outsourcing status quo, not just in India but worldwide.
