Budgyt

Founder and CEO James McCoy launched Budgyt (formerly BudgetPro) in 2011 as a solution to his own frustrating experience with budgeting. As Vice President of Finance for a retail company with 12 locations and a corporate office, James had only one tool at his disposal: Excel. James spent too much time creating budgets, and even more time making sure the budgets were correct. Without fail, James would find a broken formula or formatting error, a linking issue or a circular reference. He could not trust anyone else to review the files for fear they would miss something or change the data and he would not be able to retrace the steps. Nor could he make changes on the fly. It was always a stressful process when budgets went out to management, investors and the Board. Ultimately, it was his reputation on the line.
James McCoy has spent his career in accounting, technology, software and retail/wholesale. He sought to leverage this experience to transform the budgeting experience for the finance and accounting professionals like him. After extensive research of other offerings, he concluded the current solutions were either too complicated or too expensive. James decided to build his own solution, one that was user-friendly and leveraged features available only on the cloud and not Excel.
The result is Budgyt, a user-friendly budgeting application to create and manage multiple budgets without using traditional spreadsheets. Today, Budgyt is the go-to for hundreds of users across multiple verticals and growing.
