Our History
Founded in 1999, DataMentors is staffed by industry veterans with proven success in designing and developing data quality and database marketing solutions.
DataMentors was founded by Bob Orf and Bev Tannenbaum, who originally worked together at OKRA Marketing Corporation, where Bob was a founder. At OKRA, Bob and Bev were involved in the design, development, implementation and support of the company’s mainframe and PC-based relationship matching systems.
The market acceptance of the OKRA solutions and the financial success of the organization resulted in the acquisition of OKRA by John H. Harland Company. This provided an opportunity for the founders to leverage their 35+ combined years of industry experience into the creation of DataMentors.
In February of 2014, Brook Venture Partners led an investment in DataMentors with co-investors Bay Capital of Providence, RI and Pride's Crossing Capital of Wakefield, MA. As part of the investment, Anders Ekman was named President and his company, Attain Group was absorbed as part of the transaction, further enhancing DataMentors' ability to help marketers drive more ROI, profitability and market share.
