At IntraHealth, we know that health care is about people—not just those who need it, but those who deliver it.
The people who provide health care need to feel safe at work. They need training that’s up to date. And they need access to the supplies, equipment, and technology that will help them reach even the most remote and vulnerable communities in a fast-changing world. IntraHealth was born in 1979 as Intrah, the Program for International Training in Health, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. From the beginning, our focus was on health workers and their role in improving the health of women and their families. IntraHealth incorporated as an independent nonprofit organization in 2003. In 2017, IntraHealth and DAI joined forces to amplify their development impact. IntraHealth is now a strategic nonprofit affiliate of DAI Global Health. IntraHealth has a staff of over 500 employees working in 37 countries in Africa, the Americas, and Asia.
