After years of research at MIT and the University of California, Berkeley in the fields of machine learning, text mining and multimedia information retrieval, Dr. Jan Puzicha and his team recognized that legacy information retrieval technology simply would not be able to handle the ever increasing avalanche of information organizations must process on a daily basis.
Benefiting from intense scrutiny in a world-class research environment, Dr. Puzicha developed and later patented Recommind’s CORE (Context Optimized Relevance Engine) technology that directly addresses these questions. Dr. Puzicha teamed with co-founder Derek Schueren and entrepreneur Bob Tennant to form Recommind in 2000. This dynamic team developed applications built with the powerful CORE technology to solve some of the most vexing search, classification, eDiscovery and compliance challenges facing today’s large enterprises.
