It all started in 2006 when a small team decided to make an open source project that would run on all major operating systems. It had to run anywhere with or without internet. It had to look familiar and intuitive, so that everyone can learn to work without a special training.
In 2008 Vladster was created to make IncoPOS a full featured commercial product that can still help very small businesses do their work. More commercial features were added, such as the Touch Screen module for touch screen POS workstations with cleaner interface and graphical reporting for back office administrators. When we founded our company we knew that despite the fact that we are deeply into the computer era, a lot of small and medium size businesses still use low and no tech methods to track their sales, inventory and performance.
In many cases the small business owners stayed on what they were used to because it was easier for them. They didn’t have to train their staff for new, complex systems. In some cases they stayed on their old systems because they were afraid that if they change something, everything would break. Other wanted to expand business but they were afraid that they can’t track what is going on and this would cause more problems than benefits. But all of them wanted their business up and running without being overwhelmed with technical information they don’t understand or face the constant flow of money for hardware they don’t really need.
